Amen Corner Firefighter/EMS Awards Reception

The Squad 51 Award winners were 11 members of the EMS Rescue team from Pittsburgh EMS for a car that crashed out of a multi-story parking garage and became wedged between 2 buildings 5-6 feet in the air with 2 entrapped victims on May 6, 2010.

ESI also presented a distinctive award statue in recognition of the team’s efforts.  The statue from Holmatro Rescue Equipment depicts a rescuer ready to go into action holding a combination cutter/spreader tool.  This statue is a smaller version of the one given as a national award named the Harvey Grant who is acclaimed to be the inspirational person of modern day rescue instruction.

Accepting the award for the EMS and Rescue teams was a Paramedic/Rescue Technician George Mildner from the city EMS Rescue 2.
